Armani To Dress Bride and Groom, Katie and Tom

Turns our Giorgio Armani will be dressing the celebrity wedding of the year, the nuptials of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
"Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have asked their long time friend Giorgio Armani to design all of the wedding attire for their upcoming marriage," an Armani spokesman told FWD Thursday.
The house of Armani is being tight lipped about the wedding, however the Milan-based designer is expected to outfit not just the bride and groom, but also family members who will be attending the upcoming wedding.
No official date has been announced by either Cruise or Holmes; but rumors in Italy are that the marriage ceremony will be held on the peninsula before the end of the year. Ever since George Clooney took up residence in a Lake Como villa, Italy has been all the rage for Hollywood’s hottest names.
Hollywood has been flooded with rumors about the date and place of Tom and Katie’s wedding, at one staged predicted to take place on Independence Day. It didn’t.
Cruise proposed to Holmes at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris in June 2005, later telling TV host Barbara Walters he planned to exchange vows with his fiancée in summer or autumn 2006.
The War of the Worlds actor, is believed to want to tie the knot with the actress in a Scientology style service. The 44-year-old has been married twice before to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.
Holmes was the biggest star to attend the Paris ready-to-wear season earlier this month, showing up at Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Giambattista Valli shows with her new best British buddy Victoria Beckham. There was intense speculation then that she was shopping for her bridal trousseau.
However, Armani has won the honor of dressing the Dawson’s Creek damsel. It’s not Armani’s first big movie star wedding, the Italian designer created the gown and tuxedo for Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer's April 2003 wedding.
