Vera Wang and David's Bridal Announce New Collaboration

Future brides in love with Vera Wang’s imaginative gowns, but who are feeling the bite of their wedding budgets, will revel in the partnership between Wang and David’s Bridal to launch a new bridal collection with gowns that will be priced under $1500.

As of early spring in 2011, the collection of gowns and bridal accessories will be available in the U.S., with a roll-out in Canada by the end of 2011. They expect to launch bridesmaids dresses and shoes at a later date.

“With this new challenge, I hope to speak with a level of taste and authority that will resonate with brides everywhere,” said Wang in a statement. “This association represents the next logical step for someone who has spent 20 years building a relevant and respected bridal brand.”

Vera Wang Bridal remains at the top of the luxury bridal market, with gowns costing anywhere from $3,000 on up to $13,000.

The new collection at David’s Bridal will open up Wang’s market to an additional 300 bridal salons operated by David’s Bridal throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The company has been outfitting brides and their wedding parties since 1950.
