Kate Moss Doing New Stretch At Topshop
Godfrey Deeny
December 17th, 2008 @ 00:42 AM - Paris
Kate Moss has inked a new three-year deal with Topshop, as the UK retailer announced Wednesday it had exercised its option to renew its link-up with the super model.
The Kate Moss for Topshop collection was launched on May 1st, 2007 to considerable fanfare and impressive commercial success, as the giant youth-orientated chain synched smartly with the It Gal’s quirky fashion zeitgeist.
“Topshop is pleased to announce that it has exercised its option for a further three years on its collaboration with Kate Moss on Kate Moss for Topshop,” the British-owned company trumpeted in a release.
Since her designing debut, Moss has unveiled eight seasonal collections in 22 countries worldwide, subsequently becoming available in Australia, Europe and the United States via Topshop.com. The single-mum nymphet plans to continue to develop several collections a year as well as adding accessories and lingerie.
"The last two years have been an exciting experience, and Topshop has given me the perfect platform to develop my own collection, which is something that I have wanted to do for a long time,” the supe enthused in the statement.
“I am really looking forward to working with the Topshop team on our new collections and thank everybody who already owns a piece of Kate Moss for Topshop!" she gushed.
Moss intends inaugurating her Spring 2009 collection in mid-March 2009, timed to coincide with the opening of the Topshop /Topman flagship store in New York scheduled for that month.
Along with the news, Topshop released photos of a shaggy haired Moss in her latest creations for this Christmas, which featured her modeling a Breton sailor’s top cut as a mini and worn with clubbing micro leather jacket, plus a taught cardigan with heart stenciled on the hip.
"I believe this has been a great partnership for both Topshop and Kate. Having had two years experience, I am confident that Kate's collection now has the potential to become a significant global brand within Topshop," stressed Sir Philip Green, the chain’s key shareholder and chairman.
