Marc Jacobs Back in Rehab
Jeannette Park
March 12th, 2007 @ 2:58 PM - New York
Marc Jacobs has found himself back in rehab. Just one day after showing an impressive fall 2007 collection in Paris, Jacobs flew to a facility in Arizona to undergo drug and alcohol counseling after a recent relapse. This is the second time the designer for Louis Vuitton and his eponymous collection has undergone treatment for addiction. He was in rehab in 1999.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Jacob's business partner Robert Duffy confirmed the rumor that had been buzzing through New York. "Marc made the right decision...He'd been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away," Duffy told the trade mag.
Jacobs' first stint in rehab came after he and Duffy orchestrated a shrewd deal with LVMH and opened up multiple Marc Jacobs' stores across the country. This second round comes after a hectic fall season in which the 43-year-old designer showed in New York, London and Paris.
The designer, who reportedly moved to Paris to escape the frenetic pace of New York, has expanded his brand to include not only clothes, but fragrances, eyewear, Marc by Marc Jacobs, a children's line, and recently collaborated with Waterford for a home collection.
