Stella Hits the Slopes with 2006 Wintersports Collection
Lindsay Sammon
August 16th, 2006 @ 1:17 PM
Designer Stella McCartney is putting fitness into fall fashion with her fourth season of the Adidas by Stella McCartney hybrid sport performance design collection for women, due in stores August 18.
Similar to previous seasons, the collection will feature pieces for the gym, running, swim, and tennis, but new this time around there will be the 2006 Wintersports category inspired by 1950’s skiwear, which will hit stores later in October.
Wintersports combines a soft, feminine color palette of light pinks, grey, deep purple, and winter white, with performance-friendly fabrics that can withstand winter weather.
From the one-piece ski suit to the two-in-one snow boot, function is key: knitted wools and polar fleece line anti-odor treated garments made with ClimaWarm technology for element resistance. The collection’s pieces also feature high waists, MP3 Player and cell phone pockets, and tailored shapes for added style.
Apparel, footwear, and accessories in the collection range from $25 - $700 and will be available at Adidas stores, as well as select Bloomingdales and Nordstrom stores.
