New York Spring '08: Ten With Tracy Reese

Fun, feminine, flirty: Tracy Reese reigns supreme when it comes to creating wearable pieces that are both trendy and timeless. A great party frock never goes out of style, which makes Reese a New York fashion week favorite. And Oprah loves her, so you know she’s doing everything right.

What's the inspiration for your Spring ‘08 collection?
A romantic vacation to North Africa: Tunisia, Tangier, etc.

What's new for you this season?
Leaner, drapy silhouettes, and great pants.

Did you do any traveling this summer? Where to?
No.

Has the shift in the dates of this season's fashion week affected you at all?
Yes! We are two days earlier! Every day counts, wish me luck!

This is the last season for shows in Bryant Park. Where in New York would you move the tents?
Central Park.

If you were a street style photographer, describe something that would catch your eye if you saw them wearing it.
Little old ladies with tons of personal style, hats always and that slash of bright lipstick!

Any special ritual or routine that is helping you gear up for your show?
Yoga and plenty of it. Keeps me positive, focused and energized.

Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, Britney: Who are you most sick of reading about in the tabloids, and who’s your guilty pleasure?
I am sick of hearing about all of them, but most of all, Paris. Discussing it gives it more attention than it deserves. Let’s all focus on beauty, love, art, peace and real people doing wonderful things to make this world a better place.

iPhone or Blackberry?
Blackberry. I’m old-fashioned.

And finally, how will you spend Labor Day weekend?
Laboring.
